I usually insist on taking my own photographs for references for my paintings, but after I spent a day with these little ones I really didn't have something that really expressed their relationship. Then their father provided me with the perfect reference and I used that. He had commissioned me to paint the portrait as a surprise for their mother. I asked him to call me when she opened the gift to let me know what her reaction was. She cried. 8-) The image is available as 11 X 14 or 16 X 20 matted giclee' reproduction.
