Baby Crows Have Blue Eyes

This painting is a combination of watercolor and colored pencil.  I love crows, and I feed them peanuts so the same families come back each year and bring their babies with them.  I noticed that the babies have blue eyes, a little bit of red at the corner of the beak, and when they open their mouths the beaks are red inside.  I assume that the red mouth is the signal for the parents to feed.  When they mature, of course, their eyes turn black and the insides of their beaks are black too.
